Wedding bells and storm clouds collide in the first engaging novel in a brand-new series about destination weddings, the power of love, and the possible mishaps and missteps that happen on a couple’s journey down the aisle to “I do.”Paramedic Vanessa Hollister has put her adolescence behind her, including the unwanted label of being the new kid in town over and over again, thanks to her father’s military career. She’s overcome what her mother called “the biggest mistake of her life” and is planning an elegant destination wedding in Destin, Florida with her new fiancé. But will the reappearance of her first husband from her what-were-you-thinking teenage elopement disrupt her dream of an idyllic beach wedding? As a professional storm chaser, Logan Hollister is used to taking risks. However, a reckless decision during the last tornado season has him questioning the future of his team, the Stormmeisters. Coming face to face with his ex-wife eight years after their divorce compels him to confront his greatest regret: losing Vanessa. Does their past give him the right to interfere with her future? A fast-moving, powerful hurricane throws Vanessa and Logan together as they evacuate to a storm shelter along with other residents of the Florida Gulf Coast. Forced to spend time together, the pair battles unexpected renewed feelings for each other. Vanessa and Logan are faced with a choice: Should they accept, once and for all, their teenage marital mistake? Or is God offering them a second chance at happily ever after?

Move forward or stay mired in the results of the past. Take the safe path or risk everything for a love that takes your breath away? Settle or fly? In the journey, readers will be reminded that God can turn our old mistakes into a beautiful present." (Cara Putman, Award-winning author of Shadowed by Grace and Where Treetops Glisten)Crazy Little Thing Called Love is another winner! I truly love Beth Vogt’s voice, and the characters she has created here are authentically honest. Logan and Vanessa’s love story is one that will stick with me for a long time. Vogt that I have had the pleasure of reading. I say pleasure because it was had all the elements require in a good story written in an entertaining while also insightful way to making it into a great story. Also, I loved the quotes at the beginning of each chapter; so fitting to the chapter. This wedding destination sounded so farfetched but people are strange so it also seemed to be believable. Yes, I really do believe there are men out there who want their wedding to coincide with their work. Definitely shows the contrast between ex-husband, Logan and new husband-to-be, Ted. Vanessa goes from one extreme to the other. As the story progressed the development of Vanessa’s character along with Logan’s explains a lot about the choices she is now making.I liked the use of flashbacks to clearly show the ways that Vanessa and Logan have grown from being the impulsive and reckless teenagers who eloped. In addition, both of them turning to God individually impressed me, and made me believe that now they truly would have a chance even after eight years. Then seeing Vanessa’s and Logan’s thoughts along with their actions really sold me on the hope of reconciliation. It was easy to see that they needed to communicate with each other and with God for them to work as a couple. Life’s lesson here. The plot progresses at a steady but satisfying speed which I was glad to see. The author did not hurry this rebuilding of their relationship. By the end it is most satisfying to witness the wedding that refused to be cancelled. Highly recommend.NetGalley provided a copy.

By Anne Payne Once in a while I find myself so infinitely entrenched in the pages of a book, I lose track of time and maybe a little sleep. Such was the case with Vogt’s latest release, Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Plus, I was so caught up in the storyline between Vanessa and Logan, I found myself in tears on more than one occasion. On the surface it appears to be a story about two people who are being reunited after divorce almost a decade earlier but it goes much deeper than that. Much. Deeper. I was completely blown away by the author’s writing. Seriously, Vogt just gets better and better. The plot is well-developed with characters who have real struggles and doubts and fears. I like how the whole story plays out on the page in a balanced manor; plenty of compelling dialogue to go with some pretty intense introspection from both characters. It flows along effortlessly and then picks up some serious emotional speed toward the end.The wedding scene…oh. my. goodness. Talk about romantic. Logan Hollister has got to be Christian fiction’s ultimate bridegroom ever!Anyone who enjoys Contemporary fiction with a strong faith theme will fall in love with Crazy Little Thing Called Love. I know it has everything this reader wanted and more.My deepest gratitude to the author and Howard Books for providing a copy for review purposes. This is my honest opinion of the book. No monetary compensation has been received.

The chemistry between the couples in her novels are off the charts! Crazy Little Thing Called Love is one such story. While it is probably my least favorite since her debut, it remains a worthwhile read!Let's start with the con of the story, yes there was only one, but it was a biggie for me -- the speedy resolution. Logan and Vanessa's elopement in high school and subsequent heartbreak was all well and good for an interesting backstory and what I had hoped would be a tricky reunion with crazy sparks, but without giving too much away, the ending was so rushed. It almost seemed as if they didn't really learn much from their past mistake of rushing to the altar. That said, I really like stories where couples who once loved each other have the chance to reunite, so Crazy Little Thing Called Love pulled at my heartstrings. The pros of the story -- a category 3 hurricane and some loving friends proved interesting when it came to Logan and Vanessa's relationship! I loved that we got a peek at Nessa's past and how her old friends fit into her new life even after so many years had passed. I really hope that Rylan Hollister, Vanessa's brother shows up at some point too. We're sort of teased by a mention his life in the military and his "singleness", so he needs a book of his own. If anyone can write fabulous, likeable characters, it's Beth Vogt, so I hope she brings this family back again in future stories.*I receive complimentary books for review from publishers, publicists, and/or authors.
