He loves this offer and even cooks many recipes himself, but I’m always there to cook on my own for him using these lovely recipes, still comparing several diets and their ingredient list. I like keto meals as well.

By Lopez Jake I never thought that Ketogenic Diet is interesting. This is a must read book for any fitness and nutrition practitioner. The recipes are fairly simple and easy to prep and serve. I would surely use this as a guide for a truly Ketogenic lifestyle.

Just not good. Better info on fb and Pinterest. Hopefully a revision down the road because traveling on Keto can be a pain.

A difficult read but worth the effort By MindTx This book presents a very practical guide on how clinicians can learn to understand and use the clients emerging emotions to produce genuine positive change. It begins with the argument that emotions communicate important information and that clients must learn to understand, express and regulate emotion. A major caveat is that not all emotional expression accurately portrays what we are feeling deep down. For example, a client may consider fear to be unacceptable and therefore express anger, he now appears for treatment for problems caused by his display of anger. EFT 2nd ed., manages to provide a convincing and practical guide on how to recognize and classify the emotions expressed by clients. In my opinion, what makes EFT stand out from other therapeutic orientations attempting to look beneath the surface, were two things. Firstly, it outlines a somewhat scientific process for doing so; and secondly, the method seemed to convey the crucial importance and utility of doing so to achieve therapeutic goals. It therefore goes well beneath the surface – to a place I feel many clients expect us to go - in a way that is useful, meaningful and necessary. The book is not an easy read – a lot of time will be spent learning to determine what is primary, secondary and instrumental (manipulative) emotion; whether the emotion is over- or under-regulated; simple or complex etc. This book took me a long time to digest. It emphasizes the importance for clients to learn the language of their emotions and how to use the information they convey to see what they need to change or accept. The argument of EFT is that emotions contain a need (e.g. fear needs safety) and by accessing and feeling our primary emotion we will develop goals that address the real problem.There is a lot of advice on how to develop and manage the kind of therapeutic relationship and interactions with clients. The book contains a lot of very useful dialogues taken from the authors clinical practice. The book also prepares the reader for practice of EFT with descriptions of how to conduct several therapeutic techniques (e.g. imagery, empty-chair dialogue etc). (some of these methods, such as overcoming clients interruption of emotion (e.g. holding back tears or incongruent body language) are I think better described by Jeffrey Young in schema therapy.) EFT appears to work by helping clients construct of new narrative of experience. According to this book there is a lot to learn from clients expressed emotion, perhaps more so than from their ‘prepared verbal summary’ of what is bothering them. Needless to say we should certainly investigate both. I am now looking forward to delving into Paivio and Pascual-Leone’s application of EFT to trauma.

By Maria Clarke That’s a nice way of saying that we all have a lot of bad habits that are making us fat and unhealthy! How hard it is to have positive affirmations – didn’t we already know that being positive always has it's results? This book came as a pleasant surprise and made me realize that I didn’t need to break my back and bones or starves myself. This read gave me some additional motivation and enhanced my level of thinking on being consistent with my specific goals to lose weight.

Sample - " Human body is complex but it is undergoing its functions really well since it works on the basis of logics ."The dieting advice is also highly questionable. At one point she recommends having a glass of milk and 3 dates for your evening meal. That's all.Not surprisingly, she goes on to push supplements described as having magical results with absolutely no side effects. Right...

Some good tips on things you may not normally think of. But like with all diet/nutrition advice you have to have the time and the money to do a lot of it. I would say if you are a totally unhealthy eaterfe this will change your life. If you're a healthy eater and already exercising I don't see it helping too much.

9 of 9 people found the following review helpful. A terrific read. By Ashley McConnell I am very, very fond of the Dorothy Martin series; she's living the life I wish I could have! Dorothy is an American living in England, a widow remarried to a retired Chief Constable. She's not a spring chicken any more, has knee replacements, appreciates a nap, and doesn't like dealing with roundabouts. And she's good at solving mysteries. In this book, she's investigating the death of an obnoxious artist in a university art college.The Dorothy Martin books really are gentle mysteries. I found them first in my local library, and promptly went out and bought the whole series in hardback, because these are characters I really like, in a setting I really enjoy. I hope there are many, many more for Dorothy and her Alan.

If you enjoy cozy mysteries, the books of Jeanne Dams will not disappoint you. When I know a volume is due to arrive, I clear my day and set myself up with Twining's and biscuits.

Sasse Review:The Gentle Art of Murder is an enjoyable classic mystery featuring American expat Dorothy Martin and her retired detective husband Alan Nesbitt.Before the start of the new term, Sherebury's art college hosts a welcome party for its newest teaching assistant, sculptor Gillian Roberts. Alan and Dorothy attend, expecting a dull evening complete with indifferent wine and questionable snacks. Instead, Dorothy and Alan are at hand for the discovery of the body of the much despised head of the art college at the bottom of an elevator shaft. Was it the fall or the chisel in the back that killed Chandler? With their experience and connections in the community, Dorothy and Alan are well equipped to assist the police in their investigation.When a lecturer goes missing and Gillian receives threatening calls, it becomes clear that the duo must find the murderer before he strikes again.Part of what makes reading Dams's novels a pleasure are the characters. Dorothy and her husband Alan have a close relationship that is wonderful to observe. Both are perceptive and compassionate, supportive of each others actions and willing to help others. About the Author Henry Yinghao Zhuang has been involved with tai chi for over 30 years. He began learning tai chi alone and then sought-out formal instruction. Henry Zhuang is a chief real estate appraiser and tai chi instructor. He resides in Shanghai, China.

The author Henry Zhuang takes the reader on a journey through the history and meaning of Tai Chi. He not only writes of the fundamentals of the meaning and definition of the art but also goes into the powers, the culture and the practices in addition to the deeper meaning of the art of Tai Chi.Mr. Chuang explains that Tai Chi should not only be practiced as a physical workout but as a mindful experience, as well. He writes of the joy one can find by using the mind as well as the body in the art. He describes how happiness can be reached by looking deeper into the roots and meaning of Tai Chi as well as finding relaxation and the healthful building of the body through the practice. When read with an open mind and a love of Tai Chi, a new chapter opens for the practitioner and a new way of life starts at the same time.For a short book such as this, there is a lot of information and advice to be learned by anyone interested in Asian Martial Arts. I highly recommend this fine, very well written book.

For Serious Students of Tai Chi By NorthStar "The Mind Inside Tai Chi, Sustaining a Joyful Heart" by Henry Zhuang is a valuable book for anyone with a serious interest in the deeper aspects of the theory, practice and spiritual aspects of tai chi.Zhuang has produced a compact yet scholarly volume that combines his high level understanding of tai chi theory as passed on by ancient and current tai chi masters, with the manifestation of theoretical concepts through practice and the relationship between both with Buddhist concepts.Zhuang has clearly dedicated his life to the theoretical, practical and spiritual study of tai chi, and his book is a distillation of everything he has learned. Highly recommended to serious students of Tai Chi.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Nicely done for any level of tai chi By storyteller This book will certainly bring joy to your heart. The author, Henry Zhuang, discusses the importance of a good mind approach in practicing taijiquan. As he says, tai chi is not aerobics, but rather it is a way of practicing with one's heart. I really liked his six points to the mind approach, and how he explained the mid-perpendicular as an imaginary line traveling down through the center of the body. He referred to this line as a plumb approach and there lots of pictures with arrows so you understand the exercises. I also like all the references he gave, so you can look up certain ideas in other books. The other thing I liked was that he dedicated the book to World Tai Chi Day, which is always the last Saturday in April. Kudos to this new author. Nicely done.

I'll have to confess: I've known about smoothies, but until I came across this book, I wasn't very inspired. And now I am. These recipes are fantastic. There's a recipe for almost anything you need, be it more energy, more hydration in summer, better skin, you name it. I only wish there were pictures with each of the recipes. But otherwise, you're sure to enjoy these smoothies and incorporate them into your busy life. And who knows, you might come up with some recipes of your own... as I am.

Can’t Overstate How Empowered I Feel by this Book By IllinoisEngineer I knew something about research on motivation and exercise but until I read No Sweat I didn’t know how to put it into practice within the unique context of my own life. As a kid I loved to take long walks outside in the woods. I couldn’t have told you why until I read No Sweat, but now I understand. I was the only member of my family of five who liked to get sweaty, and the only member who didn’t smoke. Walking outside felt like a way to individuate myself and at the same time drink in the fresh air and heady scent of the forest. Walking was a gift, not a chore. I thought I’d be a walker for life, but two years ago I stopped exercising and gained 25 lbs. I have three kids, two of them special-needs, one at high risk for elopement (running away). I stopped giving myself permission to leave the house on foot, even with a cell phone, for fear that something would happen while I was gone and I couldn’t get back in time. I tried running on our indoor treadmill instead (I hate gyms and classes) before the kids rose in the morning, but it was just too punishing to run in front of a TV with nothing to watch but infomercials and televangelists. Such content might be a gift for others but watching it was a chore for me.I went through Dr. Segar’s book and came face-to-face with how I had traded the gifts of physical activity for chores, viewing exercise through an all-or-nothing lens. No Sweat is the first fitness book I’ve read that gives me permission to create exactly the exercise program that works for me, rather than expecting me to shape-shift myself and my life to fit some predefined notion of what “counts” as physical activity. This is why it feels so empowering. It is an utterly life-changing book that will give you permission to create your own behavioral plan and help you sustain it over the long haul. Dr. Segar reminds her readers: “What sustains you, you sustain.” Not because you’re lazy or hedonistic, but because your psyche is trying to nourish itself, and a healthy psyche is motivated to enjoy life on a daily basis. Her book is based on sound empirical research on motivations, movement, and emotion, and explains how they come together to shape our habits and our lives. No Sweat helped made me understand why people who follow grueling exercise and dietary regimens to drop substantial weight report being no happier thin than they were heavy. Their lives still consist mostly of chores.Since reading No Sweat I’ve found myself exercising daily in ways that feel (to me) like play, and increasing movement when the opportunity arises. I feel more at ease in my body, and – although the book is not about weight control – my pants are looser. I plan to use this book again to change my online spending habits, which I want to curtail. Now I feel empowered to do that. I am deeply grateful for No Sweat and for Dr. Segar’s commitment to her clients and readers. Give it a read and learn something profound about how to change your body AND your life.

What a relief it is to read a book about fitness that recognizes and appreciates our crazy busy lives. As a working mother of two who wants to set a "good example" for my kids and live long enough to enjoy my grandkids, I K-N-O-W I should be exercising more than I do. But, I never seem to have the time to work out, nor the time to think about how I should be working out. And I certainly don't have the time to read a book that is telling me how I should be working out (particularly when I hate to run and I was never a big fan of sweating). But, with a title like "No Sweat" and activities like "It's Your Move" I thought this book was worth a try. And, I'm so glad I gave it a try! It is completely unlike other fitness books. Think self-help book mixed with tailored fitness program. Think inspiring and liberating, not shaming and guilt-laden. Think attainable, real-life goals. Think fascinating research, backed by real world examples. Think life-long, not 6-weeks long. Yes, Virginia, there really is a fitness option for you!Plus, it is a steal because it is the only fitness book you'll need for life. I've already lent my book to a friend and I have 3 more friends waiting to borrow it!

New, refreshing approach to fitness and health By lisa gottlieb I love this book and its new, refreshing approach to exercise, health, and sustaining a fitness routine. I really enjoyed reading about how our attitude affects motivation, and how simple, small changes can bring huge success for fitness and health goals. No Sweat is well written, fast paced, full of simple solutions to help get people up and moving in ways they will really like and stick with. Dr. Segar mixes great stories, science and research, and awesome ideas together in this easy to read book. Buy this book for yourself and your loved ones!

Nebel Tom Daley's book of poetry: HOUSE YOU CANNOT REACH, is a book that must be read by all students and lovers of poetry. If you ever had a teacher try to tell you how to write to better express the inexpressible, then read this book. Tom Daley shows, with every stanza, how to say things we barely have courage to imagine. Every poem, from topic to voice to intensity, is completely original.If you are standing up while you are reading it, you have to sit down. Every page is like a perfectly ripe piece of fruit that you know you have to eat right away, but you want to savor it. You almost can’t because of the urgency of wanting to rush from one line to the next. Each poem fills me but makes me greedy for more.Do you remember when you were a child and you snuck into your sister's room? And you always wished you would find something that would inform you of some answer to a mystery you can't comprehend? That is what this journey into his mother's heart is like, but he merges with her, not only with her personality, but with the totality of the meaning in her life, so that her experiences and feelings are ours. Directly. It is moving and disconcerting. One poem I had to read over and over again. (My Mother Tells Me What She Was Thinking When the Visiting Angel Gave Her a Bath). I thought, this poem can't mean what I think it means, because Daley never tells it, he just shows, and you only know it’s there because your heart is stricken. I was not the same afterward. Something inside me was flipped, a little switch, that you can't undo. It was powerful and disturbing and soothing all at the same time.Think of when you were little and saw those wooden Russian dolls, one inside the next, inside the next. Each one was so beautiful it hardly seemed possible there could be two of its kind. And then you opened the very last one and held it in your hand, satisfied that you had reached the whole one, but also so very deeply sad. Each word within each line within each poem is like those dolls. It makes me cry just to think about it. Thank you Tom Daley, for sharing your amazing mother. A courageous undertaking, because our mothers are our world. For better or for worse, they define us or we define ourselves by their love for us or our love for them. In addition to its astonishing lyrical value, the power of this book is that I have never seen anyone else demonstrate the 'oneness' of the experience. We all wish we could do the same.In its impact, it is great art. In its execution, it is pure craft. In its understanding, it is genius. And in the realization of its ambition, it is the embodiment of love.

The experiment with identity, while preserving the humanness of the mother, goes right to the edge, in language I couldn't look away from. The dazzle of this book leaves sunspots on my old view of things.

I highly recommend this book By Vicki Poulos This elegant and highly versatile artist has finally put himself on the map with "House You Cannot Reach." Throughout these poems we get to see Daley's remarkable blend of technique (craft) and imagination (language) at play in a range that would be less arresting were it not made by this incredible balance between a nuanced hand and its evocative eye. These poems are poignant, provocative, and gut-wrenching on a, for me, and I believe for most of us, very personal level. I highly recommend this book. It left me wanting more!

This book definitely answered the lingering questions I had from the first one. Just like in the first book I'm still sad that Trinity died after finally finding happiness as well as a her daughter dang I was kinda hoping she slipped into a secret coma or something but alas it wasn't meant to be. Just like the first book the way this one ended it could be the final installment or there could be another part coming in either case I was very happy with the story line a lil sad about a few deaths but happy with the story nonetheless. Xuri you did Trinity proud.
