It can be used to determine the risk of someone becoming a repeat offender. It is used in competency evaluation to see if someone is even able to have a fair trial. Joan Swart has worked many years in this fascinating field and uses her experience to provide us with this guide to Forensic Psychology. It is well written and easy to understand. If you have just a passing interest in or plan on entering into the field of Forensic Psychology, this is the perfect book for you.

Joan Swart captured the entire course curriculum and condensed it into a single, informational textbook. I would recommend this book to anyone contemplating the idea of becoming a Forensic Psychologist, whether right out of high school, or an already practicing psychologist. Getting to Know Forensic Psychology is an excellent resource for scholars of the field, no matter what level you are on.

Goddard Joan Swart has written a fantastic book about forensic psychology that is as comprehensive as a college textbook but is much easier to read and understand. I have always been fascinated with all forms of Psychology and this book helped me get a much greater understanding of the ins and outs of Forensic Psychology. I never realized how many different areas of the court system that are affected by Forensic Psychology. I really enjoyed this book.
