Jasmine Young was head over heels in love with her boyfriend of four years, Tarrell Coleman—or so she thought until she caught him in bed with another woman in the home they shared together. Finally finding the nerve to take her independence back, Jasmine decides to get a place of her own with her best friend Chantae to get away from all the drama. Over the course of trying to get over Tarrell, Jasmine quickly develops a friendship with June Robertson. The two connect instantly, and after one fateful night, she realizes that he’s the one who’s been there all along and not Tarrell. Ready to take a chance on “true” love, Jasmine abandons all of her relationships and principles and falls fast into June’s arms, but will he be there to catch her, or will she be left standing alone to pick up all the pieces?

By Amazon Customer I looved this book I literally couldn't put it down I finished it in one sitting lol I thought that Jasmin and rell were gonna work everything out but honestly with june still in the picture I seen it coming. I just couldn't believe that June switched up like that.. definitely cant wait till part 2 the bitch jasmine better go clap back at june! Lol but overall loved the book!

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. WAKE UP, JASMINE!!! By Jody Very good story. Looking forward to reading more about the people in this story. I have to believe that Jasmine will grow up and turn her life around because she was pathetic. She jumped from one sorry ass dude to another sorry ass dude. Tarrell was bad but June was worse. The sad thing about Jasmine's character is there are a lot of women just like her who are living this exact same story. I kind of felt sorry for her, but damn. How stupid can you really be? Lucky for her she has a good friend in Tae who really loves her and only wants the best for her. In the beginning, I thought Tae was nasty as hell. Eventually she got herself together and now she is truly happy. Like I said, I'm looking forward to reading more of this story because this first book was really really good.

Never Seduce a Scoundrel (The School for Heiresses), by Sabrina Jeffries

From Booklist Lady Amelia Plume is bored with Regency London society and tired of the same unappealing gentlemen seeking her fortune. Craving adventure while attending a ball, she agrees to deliver a note to the host's bedroom. While there, she ends up snooping in the room where an American soldier, Lucas Winter, is staying, and discovers papers that may implicate her family in a scandal. When she runs into him, she acts like a silly flirtatious twit, starting a game of cat and mouse to find out about his investigation. Lucas hates the English and cannot wait to complete his mission and leave, until he meets Amelia. He believes she is the key to his success, so he pretends to court her. Then, just as he begins to suspect that her silly manners are an act, her kisses become addictive, complicating his mission. Or is his mission complicating his courtship? Jeffries delivers lively lovers in an entertaining, sensual historical romance. Patty EngelmannCopyright © American Library Association. All rights reserved

Review "Jeffries not only beguiles readers with scenes of passion and vivid characters but steadily builds the story's tension to an exciting conclusion."

-- "Publisher's Weekly" on "One Night With a Prince"

About the Author Sabrina Jeffries is the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of several Regency-set historical romance series, including the Royal Brotherhood, the School for Heiresses, the Hellions of Halstead Hall, the Duke’s Men, and the Sinful Suitors. Whatever time is not spent writing in a coffee-fueled haze is spent traveling with her husband and adult autistic son or indulging in one of her passions: jigsaw puzzles, chocolate, music, and costume parties. With more than eight million books in print in twenty languages, the North Carolina author never regrets tossing a budding career in academics for the sheer joy of writing fun fiction and hopes that one day a book of hers will end up saving the world. She always dreams big.

Rondeau Lady Amelia Plume was a graduate of Mrs. Harris' School for Young Ladies, more commonly known as the School for Heiresses. The very high-spirited young heiress sought adventure. In her second season she was growing bored with the balls of Mayfair offering the same dull fops and fortune-hunters. While attending Dowager Viscount Kirkwood's annual ball with Mrs. Harris as her chaperone she noticed the rakishly handsome yet arrogant American Major Lucas Winter. Even though he appered haughty, talk of his dangerous exploits appealed to Amelia's taste for adventure.Doing a favor for a friend, Amelia innocently entered the wrong bedchamber and discovered Lucas' papers showing his true purpose in England of investigating rather than socializing. From the notes she saw, Amelia determined that the person he was looking for was none other than her beloved step-mother. Almost caught by the scoundrel, she decided that she wasn't about to let any insolent American destroy her family and that two could play the same game.As they played cat and mouse with one another, each trying to ferret out information, their games took on a very sensual tone. When Lucas came to Amelia's rescue after a suitor kidnapped her intending to ruin and then marry the heiress, Lucas saved her and her reputation by marrying her himself. Further adventures on the way home from Gretna Green led to some enlightening truths as Amelia now found herself married to the enemy.*** This was a sensually laden regency adventure featuring two lively protagonists who spiced up the pages sparring with snappy dialogs as well as some very hot physical encounters. In this first book of a new series, Jeffries introduces Mrs. Harris who has a mysterious and anonymous benefactor (think of Charlie's Angels) funding her school. Additionally she sets the stage for a sequel featuring Amelia's enticing friend Venetia and the `Scottish Scourge' who seems to hold a huge grudge against Venetia's father. If the sequels come anywhere near as hot and spicy as this initial entry Jeffries is bound to have another spectacular series on her hands and I for one will be anxiously awaiting those sequels!

20 of 21 people found the following review helpful. 3 1/2 stars...an engaging read...not spectacular, but good By statengirl This is the first book in Sabrina Jeffries' new "School for Heiresses" series, and it is fast-paced and engaging, but less sophisticated than her previous series. The book's heiress is Lady Amelia Plume. The daughter of an earl, she has lived the majority of her 21 years very frugally, since her father had little money. Then two years ago, the earl married a wealthy American widow, Dolly, and Amelia's circumstances changed drastically. With Dolly's money, Amelia was sent to finishing school and gifted with a large dowry, and she is now considered a very desirable marriage prospect. Amelia has yet to find a suitor who appeals to her intellectual and adventurous nature, but that changes one night when she attends a London society party. On a dare, Amelia goes upstairs to sneak a love letter from her girlfriend into the host's bedchamber. She winds up in his American cousin's room, where she stumbles upon some very disturbing documents. This cousin, Major Lucas Winter, is apparently secretly investigating some criminals on behalf of the American government, and his primary suspect is none other than her beloved stepmother, Dolly. Adventure-loving Amelia immediately goes into espionage mode and begins a flirtation with Lucas in order to gain information and help protect Dolly. Lucas, who does not realize that Amelia is on to him, employs the same strategy, trying to wheedle or seduce as much information as he can from Amelia in hopes of incriminating Dolly. Of course, there is a remarkably strong attraction between two people "feigning" interest in each other. Soon the conflicted Lucas has become quite the jealous suitor, and Amelia is torn by her contradictory feelings towards him. How can this impossible situation ever be resolved? I have always enjoyed Sabrina Jeffries fun style of writing, and this book is no exception. That said, this story is a little less romantic than some I have read by her, although certainly not short on erotic encounters. The romance seemed to lack a certain tenderness and maturity, and seemed more raw and purely physical. I did like Amelia as a heroine, however, and thought she behaved admirably and with a cool head under difficult circumstances. Lucas was more difficult to empathize with, for his sometimes overbearing military ways were a little hard to warm up to. The intrigue aspect was probably the strongest part of the story, as I remained curious throughout as to how the Dolly dilemma would be resolved. Overall, this was a good and a pleasant read, just not a momentous one. I look forward to reading the next installment, featuring Amelia's friend Louisa North, Marcus' sister from "To Pleasure a Prince."

10 of 11 people found the following review helpful. A Pleasure to Read!! By Melissa Lady Amelia Plume is pursued by beaux interested only in her fortune. But Amelia longs for adventure; something none of her suitors can provide. When Major Lucas Winter arrives from America, Amelia is immediately drawn to the mysterious man. Soon Lucas is pursuing Amelia and is wooing her with romantic kisses. As their passion increases, so does Amelia's suspicions. For Amelia suspects that Lucas' motive for courting her has little to do with marriage and could potentially prove disastrous to her family... and her heart.I very much enjoyed Luke and Amelia. These two share quite a bit of chemistry that, at times, left me quite breathless. In fact, my favorite scene of the book involved a very romantic scene with Luke and Amelia onboard a ship. At the scene's end, I was panting for Luke more than ever before.I am a fan of Sabrina Jeffries. When I discovered this newest series, I was very excited. Finding good historical romances is a hard task, but I have yet to be disappointed by Sabrina Jeffries. Strong character development adds to the tension-filled plot, creating a satisfying story. Never Seduce a Scoundrel was indeed a pleasure to read!AnnabelleReviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

Four residents of Landor Park spend their day playing and joking in a bakery. Being one of the only towns to legalize weed, the weed-laced products keep customers flowing. What they gain in sales, they lack in charm, being crude to certain people who enter the store. But when they roast one customer a little too hard, instead just being hurt, she starts plotting something. A rachet story about drugs and scandal and the cost you pay for getting revenge.

The author presents in great detail the reality of four young people from Landor Park. They spend most of their time in a bakery shop. However, this is not just an innocent bakery. Because weed was legal in the town, all the baked goods contain weed. This keeps customers coming. The four young people are harassing some of the clients until one day when they mess with the wrong person.

Three days passed and I went to the doctor. I made a hydrogen breath test and it turned out that I have SIBO. He gave me antibiotics, and by the time I was taking the pills, I didn't experience any problem. Then I stopped taking the antibiotics, and the abdominal pain returned, but this time with diarrhea. I was most happy when I saw the sugar substitutes in the book. The best part of the book are the diets, which control my disease without experiencing a pain or any other symptom. Maria, thank you very much for this wonderful book!

It is heavy on the research and treatment aspects of Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO). Really good at explaining the topic. It contained proven strategies and steps on how to use medicinal, natural remedies, diet, and lifestyle changes to heal small intestinal bacteria overgrowth and restore your gut health. It made me understand about its background, potential causes, complications, and symptoms of the condition. I got to learn the natural herbs treatment along with its dietary treatment. The author suggested that the Specific Carbohydrate Diet is the most effective against SIBO. Also laid out facts to support that. There are many diets included in the book such as Paleo diet, GAPS diet or Gut and Psychology Syndrome Diet, and FODMAP diet. Step-by-step instruction has been provided. I also found out that SIBO has connections with many other ailments. I appreciate that there are reasons behind why people love sugary products. It made me understand. There are also some tricks and tips for reducing sugar cravings and sugar substitutes.I am impressed that the book is well-researched and complete. Whether you decide to follow or not the suggestions and medications outlined in the book, this book is useful for SIBO patients to at least read through.

Added probiotics, L-glutamine, aloe vera and other vitamins/supplements to my daily regimen. But I am still not sure if my gut is healed until I read this book. This is the book I based my diet on. I used some of the natural supplements recommended in this book. In particular slippery elm (this one is actually not mentioned in the book) and DGL licorice for stomach pain (coat the interior of the stomach lining), Pepzin GI (reduce inflammation and protects stomach lining - I felt a great improvement after starting to take it especially with acid production at night), and cabbage juice (finished my recovery with this one, after two days I had no stomach pain anymore at night). If you’re a practitioner or just someone struggling to understand SIBO, this is an important you'll want to pay attention to.

Stone Altars is a book of poems by an aging man still engaged in asking fundamental questions, never to be answered, which have haunted him since boyhood. It is a poetry of sea, sun, and sky, trees, rocks, streams, and hills, of loss, time, death, and memory, friends, lovers, and families. It seeks in forms the resonance they offer from the past, how their sounds and shapes expand meaning beyond what words alone can say. It searches in stories and writings from various sacred traditions for images and metaphors which can still be borrowed for serious thought in poetry today. The old questions suffice and endure: mortality, the brevity of all human life, but particularly of youth, the tragic beauty of the world, love's pain and beneficence, the call to compassion. These are the themes that recur in Stone Altars, that its poems brood about and ponder in ways always attentive to the particular, faithful to Pound's great admonition: Go in fear of abstractions.

Stone Altars, by Peter Weltner

Review Always moving, sometimes heartrending, Weltner's poetry captures what it is to be human. It is a humane poetry without artificiality, a poetry that accepts, without reservation, the whipsaw of joy and pain we all must live through. Despite its title there are no cinders here but live coals glowing with life. --Bradley R. Strahan, editor, Visions International; author of This Art of Losing.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. The Sacred in the Concrete By Amazon Customer This is a beautiful collaboration between image and text. Both poems and photographic images are highly wrought and must have been worked on over the years as they sustain a very high level of lyrical intensity. Language and image seem to flow into the forms and play off one another. The book deals with some of the basic questions of life by dealing with the simplest of life's gifts in landscape and people, memory and loss. The poetry is, I suppose, religious which is often a difficulty for me but here the religious stems from the sacred and how it impacts on human life - its ephemeral nature and the elements about it that make it of value and this in its turn stems from the concrete. Above all, this book is about images, the observed as a way of questioning existence, and for this it is of permanent value.

Leverage (Omega Sector), by Janie Crouch

From the Author Excerpt. © Reprinted by permission. All rights reserved. 2015Chapter 1   Sometimes a man just wanted to be left alone.   Dylan Branson didn't think that was too much to ask. He'd served his country for years, both on American soil and off, and had the scars--both physical and emotional--to show for it. But that was behind him now. Far behind him.   Not that you would know it from the voice talking at Dylan from the phone.   Dylan held the phone out at arm's length, staring at it as if it were a snake about to bite him. He'd rather be handling a snake. Seriously, give him a cottonmouth over what was at the other end of this phone line.   It was Dennis Burgamy, Dylan's boss when he worked at Omega Sector, a covert interagency task force. A crime-fighting, problem-solving, get-stuff-done unit, made up of the most elite agents the country had to offer. And Dylan had been one of the best of the best.   But not anymore.   Despite its arm's-length distance, Dylan could still hear Dennis Burgamy clearly on the other line. Dylan hadn't held the phone against his ear in at least two minutes, but evidently Burgamy hadn't missed Dylan's input into the conversation because the other man hadn't even noticed Dylan wasn't talking.   Which was pretty typical of Dylan's former boss. The difference now was that Dylan didn't have to listen to the other man. Burgamy wasn't his boss anymore.   Finally silence came from the other end of the phone. Dylan cautiously brought it back to his ear.   "Are you there, Branson?"   "Yeah, I'm here." Dylan sat on the porch of the house he'd mostly built himself and looked out over the pinkish light of early evening hitting the Blue Ridge Mountains surrounding him on three sides. Those mountains had been the only thing able to bring him a measure of peace over the last few years since his wife's death, and he tried to draw on that peace again now. To no avail. "You do remember that I don't work for you anymore, right, Burgamy?"   Dylan's statement was met with a dramatic sigh. There had never been any lost love between Burgamy and any of the Branson siblings. Dylan's sister and two brothers were all active Omega agents, and all had butted heads with Burgamy at some point.   "You are in the charter airline business now, Dylan," Burgamy reminded him. "I'm not asking you to do anything you wouldn't do for any other paying customer."   It was true. For the past four years Dylan had been flying customers and cargo wherever they needed to go all over the East Coast with his Cessna. But Dylan wasn't so desperate for business that he wanted to be at Burgamy's beck and call.   "I'm all booked. Sorry."   "Look, Dylan..." Dylan recognized the change in Burgamy's tone. Evidently Burgamy realized threatening Dylan wouldn't get him what he wanted, so he'd decided to try a different tactic. "How about if you do this for us, then I'll erase all record of Sawyer's little incident last year."   The little incident referred to Dylan's youngest brother Sawyer punching Burgamy in the jaw and knocking his boss unconscious during an operation that was going wrong. Sawyer managed to keep his job at Omega, but only barely. And although Sawyer was able to keep his job, the occurrence would still keep his brother from ever being able to move up in official ranks. Of course, until recently, Sawyer had no interest in ever moving higher than the rank of agent. Doing so would mean a desk job, which had frightened him to no end. But now that Sawyer was married to sweet little Megan and expecting a baby, a desk job might be more appealing to him.   And damn it, this made saying no to Burgamy much more complicated.   Dylan looked out at the mountains. He didn't want to set foot back inside Omega. He'd done it a couple of times since he'd quit over six years ago, and each time had been fraught with disaster. Dylan still had residual discomfort from the beating he'd taken while trying to help his brother Cameron on an Omega mission a while ago.   In Dylan's experience, every trip to Omega led to some sort of pain. And he wasn't interested in experiencing that again if he had any other option.   "It's important, Branson," Burgamy continued. "We need these codes. And Shelby Keelan, the lady with the codes, is a friend of your sister-in-law. I'm sure Megan will take it as a personal insult if you don't help us with this matter."   Dylan closed his eyes. Burgamy didn't know it, but Dylan was already in. And if Dylan hadn't been, bringing up Megan would've done it. Dylan liked Sawyer's wife--the brilliant computer scientist--a great deal. She was good for his brother; had somehow managed to tame the playboy of the family without even trying.   And now Sawyer and Megan were having a baby. Which was totally great for Dylan's parents, who had wanted grandkids for the longest time. They'd finally get their wish.   For just a second, that old ache crept into Dylan's chest. He pushed away the thought of the baby that hadn't made it when his wife had had been killed. Nothing could be done about that now.   If Megan wanted him to pick up some codes or whatever from a friend of hers and bring the codes to Omega, Dylan would do it. He loved his brother, loved his sister-in-law and wanted to do anything he could to keep that baby growing happy and healthy inside her.   Of course, he didn't know why Megan's friend couldn't just email the codes. Why Dylan needed to hand deliver them to Washington, DC. Or why this lady couldn't just deliver them herself. But whatever. He knew better than to ask. With Omega, things were never simple.   Effective? Yes. Simple? No.

And he wasn't interested in experiencing that again if he had any other option."It's important, Branson," Burgamy continued. "We need these codes. And Shelby Keelan, the lady with the codes, is a friend of your sister-in-law. I'm sure Megan will take it as a personal insult if you don't help us with this matter."Dylan closed his eyes. Burgamy didn't know it, but Dylan was already in. And if Dylan hadn't been, bringing up Megan would've done it. Dylan liked Sawyer's wife—the brilliant computer scientist—a great deal. She was good for his brother; had somehow managed to tame the playboy of the family without even trying. And now Sawyer and Megan were having a baby.Which was totally great for Dylan's parents, who had wanted grandkids for the longest time. They'd finally get their wish. For just a second, that old ache crept into Dylan's chest. He pushed away the thought of the baby that hadn't made it when his wife had been killed. Nothing could be done about that now.If Megan wanted him to pick up some codes or whatever from a friend of hers and bring the codes to Omega, Dylan would do it. He loved his brother, loved his sister-in-law and wanted to do anything he could to keep that baby growing happy and healthy inside her.Of course, he didn't know why Megan's friend couldn't just email the codes. Why Dylan needed to hand deliver them to Washington, DC. Or why this lady couldn't just deliver them herself. But whatever. He knew better than to ask. With Omega, things were never simple.Effective? Yes. Simple? No.For example, things could've been much simpler if Megan or Sawyer had just called Dylan themselves and asked him to fly in the codes. He'd already be gassing up his Cessna right now. But Burgamy couldn't resist an opportunity to lord power over any member of the Branson family. It bugged Dylan to submit to Burgamy, but he might as well get it over with."Fine, Burgamy, I'll do it.""Good. Because Shelby Keelan is on her way to you right now. She should be arriving in Falls Run in about thirty minutes. Meeting you at the only restaurant your blip on the map seems to have."Dylan hung up the phone without saying anything else. Burgamy had obviously told the woman to come out here even before asking Dylan, sure he would get Dylan's cooperation. Dylan hated being a foregone conclusion. He watched the pinkening sky for a few more moments, allowing the phone to fall next to him in the swing on his porch rather than crush it against the wall the way he wanted to.There were things Dylan regretted about his deliberate walk away from Omega six years ago. But having to listen to Dennis Burgamy wasn't one of them.Dylan would get the codes from Megan's friend, fly them to Omega, say a quick hello to his siblings and get the hell out. There would be no traversing up the sides of yachts, emergency takeoffs with people shooting at him or being beaten to within an inch of his life.Like his last visits.Dylan grabbed his phone and stood up. He'd have to get going if he was going to make it into town by the time Shelby Keelan arrived. His phone buzzed again in his hand. Dylan grimaced, hoping it wasn't Burgamy. It wasn't."You are not my current favorite sibling, Sawyer." Dylan's words were tough, but his greeting held no malice."Ha. Well, I'm still Mom's favorite, so that's all that matters," Sawyer responded. "I guess I'm too late to catch you before Burgamy does.""Just got off the phone with him.""Damn it. I'm sorry, Dylan. I told Burgamy I would handle it, but you know him."Dylan rolled his eyes. Yes, he was quite familiar with Burgamy's tactics. "Looks like I'll be delivering some codes to you tonight." Dylan looked out the window; menacing clouds were rolling in behind the setting sun. "Actually, it might be much later tonight. It looks like a storm is rolling in.""Thanks for doing this, man. The codes are—" Sawyer broke off midsentence and Dylan could hear his muffled words to someone else before they stopped entirely."Dylan?" A much softer female voice came on the line."Hey, Megan. How are you feeling?""Fine now that I'm not hurling my guts out multiple times a day." Dylan could hear the smile in his petite sister-in-law's voice. "I'm sorry about Burgamy, Dylan. Sawyer wanted us to leave him out of it totally, but I wouldn't let him.""It's no problem, hon. I can handle Burgamy.""Thanks for meeting Shelby. She and I knew each other in college. She's…special."Dylan didn't know what to make of special. That could mean a lot of things. "Well, I hope you don't mean special as in special needs like your husband."Megan laughed. "No, Shelby is definitely not special needs. The opposite, in fact. A brilliant computer-game programmer.""Well, either way it's no problem. I'll see you guys soon. I've got to get going if I'm going to meet Shelby on time. Burgamy didn't leave much wiggle room.""Thanks again, Dylan.""Anything for you, sweetheart. You just keep my little niece or nephew safe, okay? Bye."Dylan disconnected and went inside his house of the past four years. He had never brought a woman here; he'd preferred encounters to happen at their place instead. It made leaving much easier and awkward talks about why he couldn't stay much less necessary.Dylan preferred his solitude and planned to keep it that way. He'd tried dating, but many women thought being a widower meant he needed to be smothered with attention. With love. They wanted to wrap their arms around him and help chase his demons away. Dylan knew they meant well, but he couldn't tolerate that kind of unrelenting attention.Dylan would face his own demons. Always had.So he kept things casual with women, and kept them out of his personal space. Sometimes, much more rarely now, he got physically involved, but he was sure to let a woman know up front that his heart was off the table. A future with Dylan was not an option.Dylan walked into his bedroom and changed out of the dirty work clothes he'd had on for normal plane maintenance. He decided to take a quick shower, cursing Burgamy again when he couldn't linger under the hot water to help loosen some of the residual soreness from old wounds. Thirty minutes wasn't a long time to get to Falls Run from his house. And yes, Sally's was the only sit-down restaurant in the small town, more of a diner than anything else. There were also a couple of fast-food places, a gas station, a bar, hardware store and bank. Falls Run wasn't that small. And it was perfect for Dylan's purposes in a town: small enough that he didn't have to worry about too many strangers wandering around, and large enough that he was able to get what he needed regularly enough for both his business and personal needs. He'd chosen Falls Run on purpose. At the borders of Virginia, Tennessee and North Carolina, it allowed him access, via his Cessna, to almost anywhere on the East and Gulf coasts. Plus, the town was surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. In Dylan's opinion, you couldn't ask for better real estate than that. And it was far enough from Washington, DC, and Omega for him to stay away from his past there.Dylan rolled his eyes. At least he thought Falls Run was far enough away. Evidently not, given the past few years. Dylan got dressed in jeans and a button-down shirt, grabbed his keys and wallet from the dresser and headed out the door to his pickup truck. What the hell. He'd enjoy a nice meal at Sally's—he was tired of his own cooking anyway—and meet Megan's friend. Dylan pretty much kept to himself, but he knew how to be polite and charming when he wanted to be. His mother had instilled that much in the Branson siblings when they were growing up. Shelby Keelan wasn't at fault for Burgamy's high-handed tactics; no need to blame her. He'd meet her and move on.Get the codes. Deliver the codes. Get out.No problem.

And I have to admit, Dylan and Shelby just got to me, they are characters that are easy, for me, to relate to. Shelby has some quirks that made me smile with understanding, the need to be alone, needing your space, being too direct and not a fan of chit-chat, and loving numbers, having sass... She is amazing!Dylan is a bit of a grouch, saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, protecting himself from getting close to people, since his wife and unborn baby died. But he does redeem himself in the story, and there are several swoon worthy moments, that just made me sigh. Dylan's better qualities comes through loud and clear as well, his loyalty, protectiveness, caring, and wanting to fix things for other. The other Branson siblings from the previous stories also play a part in this book, and Sawyer & Megan have a moment that just melted my heart. This book is easy to be read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend also the previous books in the series. The story has a flow that caught me from the start, and certainly kept it till the end. The build up in the tale is smooth, from the moment Dylan and Shelby meet, the connection is there, the chemistry is in place, and they just click, feel comfortable, at home, within each other's company. Then the suspenseful tension takes a hold of the story and keeps building up, as Dylan and Shelby found themselves again and again in life and death situations on their way to DC, and end up at the mercy of the wilderness. All the events, and murder attempts, prove, that Omega Sector does have a mole, and he is most likely high up in the hierarchy. It takes all the Branson siblings, with the help of Megan and Shelby, to risk their lives while fighting against the horrid terror attack about to happen.I was swept away by this story, both times I read it. It has fast action, slowly building terror, fascinating and charming characters, and some of the best romantic scenes, that even with the second reading left me in tears!~ Five Spoons!

A good Romantic Suspense Read and Series Closer By Charlene the Stickler This fourth and final book in Janie Crouch's Omega Sector series is a well-written conclusion, although I must admit I preferred the previous three books in the series. Having said this, I liked the earlier books so much that my slight downturn should NOT keep potential readers from picking up this book in any format available. We who read the earlier Omega books have been waiting for the eldest Branson sibling's story, and Dylan turns out to be reclusive for good reason: he witnessed his pregnant wife being shot, with the resulting loss of both her and their unborn child. The heroine, Shelby Keelan, lives a reclusive life for other reasons [extreme introversion, for one]. She is a real whiz with number sequences and has discovered something coded into an electronic game that is related to a terrorist plot.Dylan's called back to serve Omega by delivering Shelby and her code to her best friend, also a math genius and Omega operative, Megan Fuller-Branson. Several attempts on Shelby's life bring on danger and a lot of action on both her and Dylan's parts. They survive some awful hardships in their attempt to get to safety. This fact proves that there has been a mole in Omega, and the story unfolds to the point of the mole being revealed. No spoilers here. My problem with this book was most likely a personal issue with how the book ended {concerning Dylan's earlier loss}. It was not enough to lose anything other than the potential fifth star.... If you have liked Omega Sector, you will be updated on all the Branson siblings; if not, this book can stand alone, but read the others if you get a chance. I fully intend to read anything that Janie Crouch writes, she's that good.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Janie does it again. By Elizabeth E Neal I fell in love with this series with book one and it's just grown stronger with the other three. Leverage is the story of Dylan, the last single Branson sibling, and Shelby, a literal whiz at remembering numbers. Dylan and Shelby both have defensive walls around themselves and their emotions. Yes, they are for different reasons, but that doesn't lessen the emotional pain they've both suffered. My heart broke for Dylan and all that he lost. His emotional distance from everyone makes complete sense. It's a defense mechanism against more pain. He's immediately intrigued by Shelby and is smitten with her freckles. I love how enamored he is of them. I'm happy that before the end of the story he has an emotional epiphany about his loss, the truth about his life before that loss, and that he could lose the best thing to ever happen to him if he doesn't snap out of it. Of course, he still has his moments before that epiphany when you wish you could throttle him. Shelby, on the other hand, has always felt different from everyone and she does better alone or with her pets. She's built up walls to protect herself due to her quirks and is in awe of the fact that Dylan accepts them. She feels the connection with Dylan even though it seems like he's continually sabotaging things between them. I'm happy to say that the bad guys are taken down and Dylan and Shelby get their HEA. But it's definitely not an easy journey. Read the book and learn about them and check in with the previous couples. I was so happy to see all of the siblings and what their lives are like after finding their one. I recommend reading any book that has the name Janie Crouch on it. You'll be so glad you did.

The language is clear and breaks down basic nutrition concepts without overwhelming the reader. There are exercises at the end of the chapters for practice. The real life examples and gentle humor keep the reader engaged. It is one of those books I know I will come back to again and again. Lifestyle improvement is a gradual process and reading this book gets you in the mood to eat healthier so it is something to pick up whenever you feel yourself slipping with your food choices.

This textbook in functional human nutrition was the first text that I read on nutrition as well as in biochemistry basics, before graduate school. It is well-written and clear for the general public as well as the student. It is comprehensive and precise. It is not a nutrition book for vegans, but a basic nutrition 101 course for anyone, based on basic physiology as we understand it.I am so thrilled for this text to be revised and available to the public again, and will keep it as my "go-to" nutrition text.

I really like the tests at the end of each section which I believe helps reinforce what you are learning. He also slips in some humor that keeps it from getting too dry.Gary gill
