Allis This is a novella, and while it was interesting, I felt like it ended right as it was really beginning to get into things. Interesting setting, especially if you like steampunk or social commentary, and in the end that was mostly what engaged me. I kept waiting for the main character to get interesting--he perpetually seemed like he was JUST ABOUT to get there, but never quite did. But I'd be interested in returning to this world.

I have not been this impressed with a short story since I read "The Hunt" (I think that is the title. It is the story of the guy who hunts people on his own personal island) Anyway, it was short yet heavy and entertaining enough to catch and keep the readers attention. Davis should consider making some of his works into films or miniseries.
