After the disastrous results of Wanda’s power hungry reign, a state of war now exists on three fronts. Mike Black is back and he is firmly in command of his family. Bobby Ray is serving as wartime consigliere and Rain Robinson has taken over running the day to day operation. “We’re at war now. And we’re not going to sit down and try to talk our way outta this.” Now Black must do what he has to do to crush his enemies. Even if that means forming uncomfortable alliances with an old associate. Despite Shy’s warning to kill her, “because I don’t like your arrogant ass”, Jada West is still New York. She’s hanging around; testing the limits of her power and pissing Shy off. Soon Jada West will learn the Shy does not make idol threats. You won’t want to miss a second as The Mike Black Saga continued in this drama filled and action packed story that picks up where Treat me Nice left off.

By Aja In Treat Me Nice, Roy Glenn readers had the opportunity to learn how greed for money and power can start a war. In I Came to Bring the Pain, you get to see how true leadership and ultimate power can end one. Roy Glenn once again proved to his readers that the only real and dominant leader of this organization can and will be Mike Black.Mike Black has a lot to clean up but with effective delegation of his top soldiers, he's able to systematically break down enemy factions. One by one, they all came tumbling down including some loose ends from the last book. But there is one loose end still pending that most of his readers have questions about: Jada West. Jada is making sure she still has a hand to play, therefore she remains active but what Mike will do with her remains to be seen. If I were Ms. West I'd tread lightly because Mrs. Black has been tightening up on her sharpshooting skills and gets plenty of practice in this novel. We also had the chance to follow up with some stories that left us reeling in the last book- like what happened with Kirk and the bodies he dropped, but more importantly, what happened between Nick and April after the news she left him with at the end of Treat Me Nice. These two have a potential romance to savor and the introduction of Marvin Jr. into the mix, gives us a glimpse of the future of Mike Black's family. The youngsters will be taking over one day.I was extremely impressed with the delivery of this story. Once again a movie played in my head which is what I love most about this author's writing style. I could see how certain scenes were running parallel to each other. This writer would take me to a scene and smoothly brought me back to the other. Craftiness by Mr. Glenn. I also could feel the intensity of the love scenes. No doubt that Mike loves his Shy and when Jackie got her swerve on . . . it might not be my flavor but this writer impressed me.As the title suggests though, there were some moments when there wasn't no love shown. Business had to be handled and as a result we saw the pain brought to quite a few. Excellent action, excellent timing with each body drop. Excellent dialogue. Excellent work, Roy Glenn. Once again, another winner.

This book gives us a peek into the future of the Mike Black family. Bobby Jr , Marvin Jr (Nick and April's son) and eventually Easy (Mike's son). These youngsters are on the come up. After the War Wanda started, Mike had to come in and take full control of his family, and let it be known he holds the reigns in this family. Roy never fails in his storytelling, always keeping his readers wanting more. This book, like all others deserves a 10 star rating. The Mike Black Saga should be on a Movie Screen......

Another Great One By Shelby White One of the things that I love most about Roy Glenn books is that you get lost in them, and forget that you are reading a story and not actually in the story or watching the story. Once again Mike has to step in and clean up a mess that one of his closet friends, Wanda has created. Wanda who should know better has yet again let greed and power go to her head. Only her greed and power this time has started a War. In doing this she proves to Mike that if you want something done right you have to do it yourself. While all of this is going on Nick the lover from way back has discovered a secret long ago hidden and his life now will never be the same, in fact his past relationships with both Wanda and Rain will never be the same. And what is not a Mike Black story without ALL of his women involved somehow, Shy, Carmen and Jada. Jada is still around trying to get Mike to scratch an itch that she just does not want to let go, even though it could cost her life when Shy continuously threaten to kill her. Shy is Mike's wife and knows he loves her but still wants to put a bullet or two in Jada West for the disrepect she continuously shows towards Shy's marriage to Mike. And then there is Carmen who is trying to put her love for Mike behind her and move on with her life, but can she really. Will she prove to be the one that is the real competition for Shy. This book just sort of ends for me but Roy never leaves us hanging for and I am sure that the next one will pick right up where this one left off. Oh and I can not wait to read about the next generation of their gangsta's kids. By the way Roy managed to do something in this book that I never thought could happen and that was make me tolerate Rain and hate Jada West.
