3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Excellent book By Robin Landry I found this book to be one of the most interesting books I've ever read on the subject of health. From what I understood, our glands are where our spirit meets flesh, and basically gives instruction to our bodies with the pituitary gland being the main one. I knew that giantism stems from problems with the pituitary, and that it handles our sexual organs, but I had no idea that it told the other glands what to do.This book is written clearly, so it was easy to grasp what the author was trying to say. One thing I found particularly fascinating was how alcohol affects our bodies. When we take a drink, our pituitary glands sends the message out to all the other gland that we're being poisoned. In reaction, the other glands rev up so that we end up feeling great as we drink--well, to a point. Then, when we stop drinking, our glands take it down a notch so we end up feeling exhausted(hangover). I've always wondered why it was so dangerous for heavy drinker to stop suddenly, and now I've come to a conclusion(my own and I'm not a doctor), our glands do their job automatically, but when we drink heavily over a period of time(different for everyone), we are taking over the job(or the alcohol is) so when we stop drinking, our glands don't do their job anymore without prompting and basically our body can shut down(for good if we're not careful). This is just my theory after reading this book, so take it or leave it.The book also talks about how there are criminal types who are too much of one gland, and if we can balance them out, it might help them get on with their lives without feeling the urge to be-well-a criminal. Interesting theory and one worth exploring.

It promised but didn't deliver instructions on how to control, or physically manipulate the Glands. The information was in depth, but it mainly hinted at what could be, but not really how-to? Like most Rosicrucian works there is a lot of talk, but not really saying anything that can be readily applied.

I continuously scan literature to keep up with data that can be cross referenced in more than ten branches of sciences. The style of writing is stuffy and arrogant. I plowed through it to acquire the basics on this subject. It was worth the effort to get a basic understanding of the science and organic chemistry of the framework that drives some functions of the human body. I actually don't recommend this book for that purpose being it is so old. If you want information a contemporary book on this subject would be a much better investment of time. Free is what grabbed my attention. The best books are in the $100 range.
