By Platypus PS: I bought a hard copy of this book off Amazon.co.uk but I am going to assume the one ordered from the .com site will be the same, as well as the Kindle version.TL;DR: The recipes are nice and are an interesting addition to anyone's diet; I can't wait to try making these dishes! However, there is almost no information on nutrition, no references for any of the claims made, no one is credited making me wonder who took the photos (in addition to all photos looking like they were made by different people in a different setting), typesetting/design is very poor and looks more like a draft/looks unprofessional and also affects ease of use of this book. I had bought this as a gift but it doesn't look impressive, so I'm hesitant to give this to my non-vegan friend aiming for him to eat more vegan food… Also, one of my two copies has a serious printing/binding flaw where half of the pages of the book are cut way too tightly.REVIEW:I've just purchased this book for a friend who's not vegan and who's into bodybuilding/fitness. I am vegan but since can use some new recipes, I ordered two copies.One of the copies as a serious printing flaw: Half of the book has the pages cut too close to the text (the text is 1 mm from the edge of the page and those pages show black markings where they are glued in the book, so this must be some binding/printing error).Apart from this problem, there are many issues with the book as well. On fist glance, it doesn't look like a finished book but more like a draft. The typesetting is quite poor (there are many things that I think could have done better but they mainly come down to poor typesetting); it looks like with a day or two of extra work by a graphic designer or a typesetter, the book could have looked much more 'professional' (if I would have found this book in a book store, I wouldn't have bought it if I could have seen the inside). One of the big issues is that the index/list of contents has no page numbers and none of the pages in the book have any page numbers. In addition, a few recipes in, a recipe no longer covers the two pages you are looking at when the book is opened, but one page on on side, the second page of the same recipe on the back of that same page, which is annoying and is the case for the majority of/many recipes. The use of English is not that great (some minor mistakes here and there) which makes me think the person isn't a native speaker. Proof-reading by someone who is would have solved the language issues.The photos of the food look great but all look different (different bowls/plates, different table, different lighting and different quality/editing). There is no photographer credited in the book at all, which makes me wonder who took the photos and if these are stock photos.The book is mainly a recipe book, with virtually no information on nutrition. A few claims are made about benefits of certain types of food, but nowhere are there references to studies/books so they are probably opinions instead of scientifically proven facts. As a scientist, this bothers me.The nutritional info uses 'calories' but I think they probably mean 'Kcalories'. They also mention the % of micronutrients per serving but it's not clear if this is RDA, EAR or AI.There is no 'closing remarks', no one is credited, no references or further reading material, so this really is just a recipe book.I wanted to e-mail the author with my suggestions but couldn't find an e-mail address so that's why I left the main comments here.

Vegan all the way By rogelio wamsley I found this book pretty helpful and interesting, it has all the material I need to know about a vegan diet and there are many gluten free recipes for weight loss and building muscles. Honestly, I had never imagined that so many recipes would be possible with a vegan/gluten free diet. I already feel good, lean and am brimming with lots of energy. Moreover it is low in cholesterol and saturated fats which is good and healthy. There are recipe options for weight loss – building muscles or bulking up - building muscles as well and I am already trying to mix and match some recipes according to my taste and even the ideas of desserts are yummy. I am happy I came across this book. Recommended for people who care for their health.

After reading this , I so dearly wanted to write a review, and was impatiently searching on the net for the same, till i stumbled on its ad in Amazon.This vegan cook book is nothing short on a mini encyclopedia on Vegan Diet, and the recipes are extremely creative and relatively easy to cook. I personally loved the avocado salad. The efforts of the author Scott Oteri to explore so many recipies with vegan diet is something that needs to be appreciated. The myths and truths of athlete diet is explored neatly in this book. I wish the author could come up with more books like these in the near future.
