With roots and influence from the ancient Tainos people, the African culture brought by the slaves in the past centuries, and from old French masters, the result is a rich variety of succulent and spicy food.The author had to make a selection of all the different dishes that are available, and I think she did succeed in giving a good sampling. I like also that she present the recipes in 3 steps, also the beautiful pictures enhance the experience, something that was missing in older haitian cookbooks. It works for me, hope that it work for you! Great job Michelle.
