I also highly recommend this for Psychiatry Residents and advanced medical students.

Jerome reels her in with a kind deed. Within a week of jury duty they start dating and consummate their relationship. The book originally put me in the mind of Disappearing Acts, because their backgrounds were totally different. Erica is well off and from a wealthy family. Jerome is getting by as a garbage man, trying to get his GED, and start his own home repair company. Jerome is changed from a life of being a thug to being responsible man. He outgrew drugs and a not so pleasant past. Their relationship addresses a class system within the African American Community.Within a week they are head over heels crazy in love. Wow, I wish their love would have been developed over time; however, they say they love each other within about a week. While I believe in love and romance, that's just too much for me. That was not necessary because the book has real topics, why not keep that real too.They fight twice over Erica's ex. And Jerome's crazy baby mama.They both have trust issues within the first week of falling in love. Of course you do! You don't know the person you're with, it's only been a week!His past comes into play and causes strife and so does hers over and over again.The book seemed rushed. It could have been better, but just didn't do it for me. Her ex appears and suddenly disappears out with a few lines. He had a major role before then. The drama with his baby mama ends the same way. The drama with Sasha ends the same way.Pros:Jerome is a decent character because he's hard working.Erica is sweet character.Passionate lovers.Well written.Jamel, Jerome's son helps endure you to Jerome as a man.Drama.Excellent story about the trial. Added to the book.Cons:They fall in love in a week.They talk about marriage the first night together. Wow! Men run from women who mention wanting a relationship that will lead to that, but he knew she was the one within hours.Too much drama for their relationship within a week for it to last the next week.Jerome was very jealous and a woman with sense would have ran after this was experienced in the first week.The story of her nightmares was rushed with the ending, which I want spoil because I've spoiled enough.Him getting his GED and license was mentioned in a couple of sentences with no real fanfare. That has to be huge for someone who's struggled most of his life to achieve success or accomplish anything.He proposed after admitting to sleeping in a bed with his ex and she agreed! WTH, we need to talk at least; and for a while! But she accepted his marriage proposal.

21 of 21 people found the following review helpful. Blevins does it again By Marguerite P. Nico This is the second book by Win Blevins that I have read, the first being Ravenshadow. I liked this one immensely. I found it very difficult to put down once I got into the story. From the beginning, with young Curly, who is determined to have a vision quest, but doesn't share what he has seen with his family, it hooks you. Then it takes you through the various times in his life, never letting you forget the conflict that was going on in the country at that time. Blevins did an interesting job of describing the conflicts between the whites and the Indians. He makes you feel like you were actually there. When he described the ones who hung around the forts, you got the impression that you could actually see them in their blankets, waiting to trade for whiskey. In the course of reading this book, I took the liberty to visit the Crazy Horse Foundation website and read the interviews with some of the people who knew him. I'm thinking that Blevins also read those interviews and that may be how he got some of his material. I'm sure he did extensive research before writing this book and to me, it reflects it. I am giving this book five stars. It will make you think and will bring His Crazy Horse (the literal translation of his name) the man to life.

I expected a well written, historical work of fiction on Native Americans - of which I've read a few. What I got was a story that followed me around for weeks and beyond. Blevins did an excellent of portraying the internal struggles of Crazy Horse - his desires, his anger, and his spiritual passion as well as his ultimate integrity and bravery. This is the story of one of the greatest men in history - a true hero. Blevins makes you understand why.

Portrait of a Human Hero By Almut In this superbly crafted fictional biography Blevins portrays Crazy Horse from many angles : insecure adolescent, faithful friend, courageous warrior and non-committed lover guided by the need to fulfil his vision and remain true to his spirit guide.Always a man apart from the others, Crazy Horse makes attempts at escaping from his isolation although ultimately in the knowledge that isolation will be his destiny. The author convincingly describes life among the Lakota,their many warring factions, their social customs and the impact that the broken promises of the "wasicu" have on their very existence.There is of course no way of knowing if Crazy Horse felt as described in this novel (a problem from which all fiction based on a historical person suffers). But the beautiful poetic language crafted by Blevins renders his vision thouroughly believable. A major achievement.

I love this book By Chris I love this book, its beautifully presented, has amazing recipes and I have used it as part of her first book The Body Rescue Plan.I have never been into cooking and used to be a fussy eater, but these recipes are so delicious and I have never felt hungry on the plan.I love the fact that you have all the shopping lists and recipe plans written out to, that really saves time. But I also use the recipes just to dip in and out of.I have even had a dinner party and used the detox recipes. Noone knew they were on a detox with me because the recipes are so good.I have lost 60 pounds on The body rescue plan, and during the 2 week detox I lost 10 pounds.I would thoroughly recommend this book.

About the Author Janet Dailey's first book -- a Harlequin romance -- was published in 1976. All of her novels are meticulously researched, an endeavor she shares with her husband, Bill Dailey. The couple met in 1963, when Janet worked as a secretary for the construction company Bill owned.
