We spend our time saying “What if?” or “I shouldn’t have.” We often look out instead of in as we try to find the root of what makes us tick, placing blame on everyone and everything other than ourselves along the way. About the Author Pete Evick is still a Virginia boy at heart with tight ties to his hometown of Manassas. He is a multitalented musician/producer who, in addition to playing guitar in the Bret Michaels Band, has also served as a co-songwriter, producer, mixer, and musical director for the group, and his own band, EVICK. A man with a true entrepreneurial spirit, he pursues his own projects, which have included the conception of an all digital record company called Potomac Records which has been turned over to his close high-school friend, Mike Bailey, and a new environmentally conscious candle company also based in Virginia called Shining Sol Candle Company. Although Pete is an award-winning producer, his biggest role in life remains that of being the best father he can to his two boys.

Truly makes you think about the memories we have and how they unconsciously shape who we become as adults. Also how our past affects our futures, as well as the futures of our children and grandchildren. Most people have thoughts of how we fit in this world and what our life mission is. Pete Evick has found his place in life and shows how a rainbow can be better than a pot of gold. He is a killer guitar player too!!!

Inspiring Read By ErikaLeigh 'The Moments That Make Us' is the perfect title for this funny, sad, inspiring, and thought-provoking book by rock n' roll guitar whiz Pete Evick. Pete digs deep into his life to reflect upon the larger events, (such as the impact of his father leaving his family) and seemingly small events (a singular sentence uttered by a scout leader) to share with the reader the who/what/where/when/why of who he is today. Although his stories are uniquely his own, Pete's readers will surely be able to relate to the feelings and experiences that he's had on a multitude of levels. Pete's story is cautionary and at the same time uplifting. He focuses on his core family dynamics, the downfall of his own marriage, and the joys and uncertainties of raising his two boys to be confident, unique individuals. Emphasis is placed on the long-term effects that words and actions can have on a child, and how these things can forever influence who that child becomes. Even if you're not a parent, this book makes you take a look at how you treat the children and adults in your life, and if you're contributing positively to the world around you. As a teacher, it was a great reminder to be constantly aware of the young ones under my care, and how my influence can shape their whole world. Pete's book is refreshingly open and honest, his thoughts and beliefs uncensored. I was definitely encouraged to not only analyze my own childhood to look for the moments that made me who I am, but to also charge forward through all open doors toward the future that I desire. No matter what your life circumstances or upbringing, Pete inspires you to shape the negative experiences into fuel for your passions. Thank you, Pete, for gifting us all with your story!
