By nonyer bizness Up front, let me say that I'm an avid mushroom hunter/eater, friend of Darcy's and the illustrator of this book's cover art. I could have given an anonymous review had I the least reservation about this book's quality of information and recipes-but I don't. Darcy is knowledgable and passionate about fungi, from edibles to medicinal. These recipes reflect her life-long obsession with mushrooms. Darcy's cooking skills showcase each edible mushroom's unique traits- whether it's taste, aroma or texture. The recipes are straight forward without a lot of complicated instructions or exotic ingredients, but most importantly, they simply taste really good! The featured mushrooms are collectible in Idaho and the Northwest. Some may wonder at the lack of individual mushroom descriptions/illustrations, but keep in mind that the purpose of this book is mushroom recipes, not identification. It's imperative that anyone cooking wild mushrooms be very familiar with their main ingredient: take mushroom classes, learn from locals and have mushroom identification books on hand.Take it from another life-long fungi freak...if you love mushrooms, you'll love these creative recipes in 'Fabulous Wild Fungi' Enjoy!
