This story made me laugh out loud, tear up, feel frustrated, and sigh.When Ivy and CJ find out they are going to have a baby together after one very hot night together, both of them make lots of mistakes, mistakes in how they tackle the situation, reactions to the news, reactions to the other person's reaction... It is like a snowball effect that starts to roll down the hill. Even though they grew up in very different kind of environments, there are similarities to the way their mothers were. But both CJ and Ivy are such control freaks, people who are afraid trust anyone, and both of them afraid, and determined not to, be like their parents, the mistakes, misunderstandings, and conflicts pile up.Also, there's a sub-plot of young Gracie and Luke, both of the plots deal with trust and second chances, expectations from others mirroring one's own failures and fears, how hard it is to have faith in the feelings, hope in the relationships. The stories are touching, and I admit, a bit heartbreaking, with the reality of the fact, how little people do trust each other, why relationships are so hard, and why it is so scary to open up to people, let them in to be part of your life.I love this story, it is the first of the series I have read, but certainly will keep an eye for the future installments of the series, since there were several questions I wanted answers to, events I wanted to witness, and most of all, the rambunctious, dysfunctional family I want to learn more about~ Five Spoons!

Nothing comes easy for Ivy Rutherford By Literature Litehouse - Fun with Books Nothing comes easy for Ivy Rutherford, she has worked hard all of her life and works two jobs to make ends meet, When she sees CJ while working a Valentines engagement party she decides to say what the heck and give herself one night of passion,CJ is the take control kind of guy. His family is a mess, and he is the one that puts things back together when they fall apart, but when Ivy shows up on his doorstep to tell him he is about to become a daddy from their night together he finds out that some things are not easily fixed.This is a very fun, sweet, sometimes sexy read that I found very enjoyable. I liked Ivy and CJ together and the other characters in the book brought a lot of depth to the story. In the book you also get to meet a young couple who I have a feeling we may see again when they are a little older (I hope so anyway)

Just an itch to scratch then he'll leave and she'll be satisfied. Little did anyone expect that it would lead to a child on the way. When Ivy decides to do the right thing and tell CJ then head back home without that guilt. What she didn't plan on was for CJ to seek her out to be apart of that child's life and maybe even her.So that being said there is another perspective in the book, Graces, mini story. A story I didn't feel that tied into the story much so her story/relationship felt like an unneeded add on, but it was still interesting. I did like the story it was enjoyable. I loved watching them slowly love and learn to trust what was going on between each other.
